We all want to clean effectively, quickly and without spending too much on cleaning products. This is quite manageable, especially if you use the popular natural products that you already have at home. Here are the most famous of them and their uses:
As a cleaning solution vinegar is a lot like an all-purpose cleaning product. Mixing equal parts of vinegar and water will give you the best solution for a variety of surfaces and stains. Pour this mixture in a spray bottle and use it for your windows. Moreover, vinegar is known as a great deodorizer and disinfectant. You can use it for removing bad odours from a fridge, carpet or dishwasher. Some surfaces don’t favour vinegar though. Avoid using it on tile grout and marble. Vinegar is acidic and it can eat away these surfaces. Don’t worry about the vinegar’s smell, when it dries it disappears completely. So where and what can you use vinegar for? In the bathroom, you can clean the toilet, bathtub, counter-tops and the sink with vinegar. Flush the toilet, pour undiluted vinegar in the toilet bowl and scrub it down. With the mixture of water and vinegar, you can mop the tiles in the bathroom – they will become shiny and clean. In the kitchen use vinegar for cleaning the stovetop. You can use it for most appliances too. Spray the countertops with the solution to disinfect it. Again you can mop the floors with water and vinegar – the results will amaze you. When it comes to laundry vinegar does wonders there too as it’s a natural softener. Add half a cup of vinegar to the last cycle of rinsing. You don’t have to buy a special laundry softener as vinegar can give you the same results. Moreover, you can add it to the machine when it’s empty and run it on hot to clean it from the inside.
Another great natural substance that you can use for various cleaning purposes. It is often used for dissolving hard water deposits and soap scum. You can clean copper and shine brass effectively. If you want a really good cleaning solution, cut a lemon in two halves and sprinkle some baking soda on them. Use this to scrub china, dishes, glass surfaces and stains. Lemon is also natural bleach, but always try it on a hidden area first. You can polish hardwood furniture with it.
One of the most used non-abrasive cleaners for various surfaces and stains. Being a strong deodorizer, placed in the fridge or on a carpet it will absorb the odours. You can also use it in the laundry, trash cans and even inside smelly trainers. It is considered one of the most versatile cleaners and there are dozens of ways to use it.
Other Natural Cleaning Products
You can use salt for scrubbing tough areas as it is a strong abrasive. You can remove mildew and rust and polish silver and copper with it. A mild abrasive is a toothpaste – use it for cleaning silver or removing stains from white clothing. There are plenty of products that you already have in your kitchen which you can use straight away for cleaning purposes. No need to go to a shop and spend money on commercial cleaning products, because you can easily prepare yours at home. It saves time, money and worries about any toxic substances. Moreover, you are cleaning in a greener way which makes all the difference.
